The Techie Flutist is an exciting, dynamic and unique performer who captivates the imagination of audiences young and old. Through a combination of effect pedals, piccolo, concert, alto and bass flutes The Techie Flutist merges genres, styles and traditions to present music to the next generation music enthusiasts.
Compositionally The Techie Flutist is continuously developing new sounds and creating new pieces. But regardless of instrumentation, style or brief, The Techie Flutist’s music has always been deeply connected to the relationship between emotion and music. Many of her pieces are described as being lyrical, highly emotive and characterised with rich harmonies and strong rhythms.
The Techie Flutist is a gifted and passionate educator who founded The Creators Music Academy in Belgrave. Here Emma is honoured to work with students of all ages and abilities and Her diverse musical background provides students with unique insights into both traditional and contemporary flute performance, composition and music theory. On top of flute, Emma also has experience teaching clarinet, saxophone, piano and theory.
Every artist and every human values a unique collection of ideas and beliefs that helps to shape their identity. Each value gives us insight into a person’s character and how we can expect them to behave. Learning what someone else values can be a way of working out if we are going to be able to get along with the person and sustain an ongoing relationship, be it professional or otherwise. Responsibility can be terrifying and requires us to examine what we both are and aren’t genuinely accountable for
Integrity is honesty. It starts with the goal of keeping your words, actions and thoughts in alignment with your values but it requires brutal honesty. Approaching your musical practice and life with integrity can increase the joy and fulfilment that you experience.
