Welcome
Music Lovers, Flute Students, Parents with Flautists and Thinkers to The Blog
This is a very exciting moment for me because today, after a few years of thinking, some degree of procrastination and several months of planning, I am finally launching my music blog. I’m still not looking for a name. For now, it shall be called ‘The Blog’. If you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments.
The Blog
It is my intention to simply be here for you and share life and music with you. I hope that together we can challenge each other, broaden our horizons and explore a vast array of flute and music related topics. I have many different topics planned and as the blog grows I hope to have them sorted into different categories so you can easily find a library of articles related to what you’re looking for.
Just some of the categories I’ve started writing for include:
- Parents of Flute Students
- Flute Students
- Emma’s Musical Thoughts – general philosophical musings around music and its role in our lives
- Book Reviews
- Music Technology for the Technologically Challenged
- And lots more
Of course, I would love your suggestions about what you’d like to read about as well.
To begin with, my main focus will be flute and shall be specifically geared towards parents and students. I’m not quite sure where exactly we shall branch out to from there but branch we shall.
The Blogging Plan
The plan is to post a new article every Tuesday at 8:00 pm Melbourne, Australia time (because that’s where I live.) If you’d like monthly updates about everything that’s been going on then please subscribe to my email newsletter AND when you do you get a bonus mp3 free. (Don’t forget to check your trash and confirm your email, then you should be good to go.)
And I probably should introduce myself. My names Emma Rogers. It is a popular name that tells you very little about me. I eat, breath and sleep music. I am a composer, flautist and educator with a special interest in low flutes and mixing flute with guitar pedals. So, in other words, I am The Techie Flutist.
As you can see it’s a little different and a fusion of classical and popular music but I love it and I sincerely hope that others might derive some form of enjoyment from it too.
Anyhow, that’s pretty much me. If you want to know more you can visit my about page or follow me on:
