Our Music
Combining flutes of all shapes and sizes with all manner of effect pedals, loopers and extended techniques, The Techie Flutist’s sound truly is a unique and inspiring melting pot of genres and emotion.
Our Mission
The mission here at The Techie Flutist is to use music to empower people to live a fulfilling life. Music is a special gift that has the capacity to greatly enrich the quality of someone’s life. It gives people the opportunity to express their emotions, connect with others, develop their character and share their stories. Music brings joy, communicates unspeakable sorrow and blurs the distinction between art and entertainment. It benefits not only those who make it but entire communities with people from all cultures, ages and economic backgrounds. The music alone may not be enough to fix every problem in the world but it does help people to deal with, understand and process both the ordinary and extraordinary occurrences that ultimately shape their lives.
Our Education
When the 21st century collides with the last 1000 years of music education the results are positively astounding. The model of individual instrumental lessons allows children, adolescents and adults the opportunity for one-on-one mentoring with an expert in their field. These relationships reach far beyond the confines of a school classroom as a teacher may work with the same student for many years. This unique level of consistency and stability is nearly impossible to maintain outside of family relationships. Combining this with the technology of today and students can experience dynamic and exhilarating learning opportunities with educational games, YouTube videos and opportunities that were never imaginable to previous generations. In a time of increased isolation and disconnected communities, instrumental lessons have never played a more vital role in helping individuals maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
