~Tilman Dehnhard This workbook and DVD is one of the best resources around for anyone looking to get started with beatbox flute. It has simple explanations that contain enough details to explain how each beatboxing flute sound is created, ideas for practice, groove suggestions and example pieces. It also contains sections on how to sing and play, whistle tones, glissando, circular breathing, multiphonics and quarter tones.

Flute Beatboxing

~Tilman Dehnhard Flute Beatboxing is a fantastic and necessary supplement to ‘The New Flute’ workbook. It again contains descriptions of how to produce all the beatboxing sounds but its most useful for the practice material it provides. This book contains many beats you can use to help you improve your beatboxing. It also has accessible beatboxing flute studies that focus on one or two beatbox sounds at a time. These studies vary in difficulty but progressively get more challenging. The book is appropriate for intermediate flautists and beginner to intermediate beatboxers. Dehnhard also included a number of pieces that can be used for performance.

The Art of Beatboxing

~Brandy Hudelson Hudelson’s ‘The Art of Beatboxing’ is a resource for advanced flautist and intermediate to advanced beatboxers. It includes a brief history of beatboxing, analyses of beatboxing sounds including a difficulty rating, guidelines for improvisation, beatboxing notation and beatboxing flute etudes. This book is great for people who already have a handle of the basics of beatboxing flute and are looking to further develop and refine their craft.

Modern Flute Concept

~ Dirko Juchem This workbook and DVD is in German. As such, there is not a lot I can say.

A Fluteboxing Workbook

~Andrea La Rose This workbook focuses primarily on developing your beatboxing and rhythm skills. It is full of purely rhythmic exercises and doesn’t contain any explanations on how to produce each beatboxing sound. Think of it more as being a scales book for beatboxing. It is available online at Scribd.
